The big House

The Big House at Burke Basecamp is a welcoming home base designed for gathering, slowing down, and settling in after full days of adventure.

Custom built with the warmth of wood, the character of handmade stained glass windows, and beautiful Vermont craftsmanship, the home feels both grounded and special. Scandinavian-inspired design, natural materials, and work by local artists create a calm, inviting atmosphere throughout—tasteful, unfussy, and deeply comfortable.

The home offers three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and a two-car garage—providing space to spread out while still feeling connected. The living area is anchored by a gas “woodstove,” an ideal place to warm up after time outside, linger with a book, or gather for conversation as evening settles in.

The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped for real cooking and shared meals—perfect for lingering breakfasts, post-adventure dinners, and unhurried time together. Step outside to relax in the hammock, enjoy a drink at the deck bar, or grill dinner and toast marshmallows as the light fades.

Set just steps from town and directly on the Kingdom Trails, the Big House offers rare privacy with immediate access to the outdoors. A peek-a-boo view of Burke Mountain is a quiet reminder of what brought you here, while the peaceful setting invites you to truly unwind. From this central location, exploring Lake Willoughby and the wider Northeast Kingdom feels effortless.

The Big House is ideal for families, friends, and longer stays—those looking for a place that feels easy to settle into and hard to leave.
